Common Object Features

In the Wise Scada environment, regardless of the object type (e.g., Button, Gauge, or Chart), the configuration process is managed through three fundamental panels. These panels are the standard interface for defining how an object looks, how it behaves with data, and how it interacts with the operator.
Below are the three main pillars of object configuration:

1. Properties Panel (Dynamic Data)

This panel is the bridge between your design and the live system. It is primarily used to bind SCADA Tags to the object’s attributes.

  • Purpose: To define “Runtime” behavior.
  • Key Functions: Assigning value tags, visibility conditions, and dynamic color changes.
  • See Section: Properties Panel

2. Advanced Panel (Static Configuration)

This panel is used to define the object’s structural and visual characteristics that do not necessarily change based on tags. It contains the core settings that define what the object is.

  • Purpose: To define “Design Time” appearance and limits.
  • Key Functions: Setting colors, fonts, minimum/maximum limits, borders, and specific object types (e.g., Chart Type).
  • See Section: Advanced Panel

3. Events Panel (Interactivity)

This panel is used to transform a static object into an interactive control. It manages what happens when an operator interacts with the object via the mouse or touch screen.

  • Purpose: To trigger scripts and actions.
  • Key Functions: Defining actions for Mouse Down, Mouse Up, and Click events (e.g., opening a screen, toggling a bit, or running a script).
  • See Section: Events Panel
