Hardkey (USB Dongle) Activation

If your license was provided as a USB Hardware Key (Dongle), no password entry is required.

1. Insert the USB Dongle into the computer (this can be done while Wise SCADA is open or closed).
2. Click the “Demo” button in the Setup panel.
3. The system will automatically detect the hardware key and display the license information (License Type, Tag Count, etc.) on the screen.

Note: When using a Dongle, the Activate and Deactivate buttons become inactive (disabled). Your license remains active as long as the Dongle is plugged in.
Note: Coexistence of Softkey and Hardkey If a USB Dongle is connected to a computer that already has an active Softkey license, the system will prioritize the Hardkey license. The Softkey license remains active in the background. To transfer the Softkey license to another computer, you must manually deactivate it by entering its specific license key.

Updating the Dongle License (Update Dongle)

If you wish to upgrade the features of your current dongle (e.g., increasing the tag count or upgrading to a higher package), our team will provide you with a specific license file (with a .lic extension). You can update your dongle using this file.

1. Open the License window while the USB Dongle is inserted in your computer.
2. Click the Update Dongle button located at the bottom of the window.
3. In the file selection dialog that appears, locate and select the .lic file provided to you.
4. Once selected, the update process will proceed automatically.
