Power Tags
Power Tags
Power Tags are the tags Wise SCADA uses to communicate with physical devices in the field (PLC, HMI, Energy Analyzer, Drive, etc.).
Rule of Thumb: If you are reading a tag’s value from a PLC or writing to a PLC, it is a Power Tag.
Licensing and Power Tag Concept
Wise SCADA’s licensing model is based on the number of Power Tags used.
- Internal Tags: Free of charge.
- PLC Tags: All tags read from or written via a PLC are considered Power Tags.
- String Tags: For STRING type tags, every four bytes count as one tag.
- Other Types: All other data types are calculated as one tag, regardless of their byte length.
Note: Visit the Licensing Operations page for detailed information.
Configuration and Connection Guides
Follow the detailed guides below to create your Power Tags, add your devices, and optimize system performance:
Adding a new PLC or device to a protocol (Network), station settings, and device hierarchy.
Memory addressing formats for different brands like Modbus, Siemens, Omron (e.g., %MW100, 40001, DB1.DBW10).
Techniques to increase system performance using multi-channel usage, page-based reading, and device management.
Brand and model-specific (Modbus, Siemens, Mitsubishi, etc.) connection settings and wiring diagrams.
